15 DPO: Implantation, hCG and When a Test Will Show

Testing & late periods. Updated . Calculated with the standard pregnancy dating method used by ACOG and the NHS.

15 DPO means 15 days past ovulation. Here's what is likely happening in your body, and how likely a pregnancy test is to show a result.

What's happening at 15 DPO

At 15 DPO your period is late if you have a typical luteal phase. A home test is usually reliable now. If it's negative and your period still hasn't come, test again in a few days, and speak to a doctor if it stays negative and your period doesn't arrive.

Symptoms at 15 DPO

Symptoms in the days before a missed period, such as cramps, sore breasts or tiredness, are very similar to normal premenstrual symptoms caused by progesterone. They can't reliably tell you whether you are pregnant. A small amount of spotting can happen with implantation, but many people never notice it.
