Day 6 Embryo Transfer: How to Calculate Your Due Date
After a day 6 embryo transfer, your due date is 260 days after the transfer date. Day 6 embryos are blastocysts that took a little longer to develop. Many still lead to healthy pregnancies.
| Days from transfer to due date | 260 |
|---|---|
| Example transfer date | June 10, 2026 |
| Example due date | February 25, 2027 |
| Equivalent conception date | June 4, 2026 |
Why IVF due dates are more precise
In IVF the exact day of fertilisation is known, so the due date doesn't have to be estimated from a period or an assumed ovulation day. The embryo's age at transfer is subtracted from the transfer date to get the fertilisation date, and 266 days are added to that.
The same applies to frozen embryo transfers: what matters is the embryo's age when it was frozen, not how long it was stored.
